Go to DTGInks.com, They have an Epson r1800 print head for $275.00, which is considerably cheaper than any Epson dealer I've found. They also sell the capping station for it, I think I got mine for around $60. Just get in touch with Dan or Gloria if you dont see a part on their website, they are a great help.

I can not manually move the printer carriage on my HP Photosmart B210e printer

Might be service station jammed.Service station work is to clean the print heads, stores spitting ink init as we as capping the print heads to protect from the nozzle drying..After switching off the machine service station capping the print heads and arrest the carriage assm for protecting the print heads, in this condition carraige assm wont come out until its released by service station. Its required expert to release the service station, if you force to pull it will damages the print heads.. You justify what you can do for this issue...If you are capable do it...But care fully

I have an Epson Photo 1800 printer with a broken ink jet. Is the repair worth the cost or is it time to trash the printer?

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Epson Stylus R1800 is not printing correctly. It is skipping spots leaving clear areas across the page. Changed all the cartridges.

your problem is not with the inks it is with the printhead... try running the maintenance and head cleaning... epson is notorious for print heads getting clogged!! good luck

R1800 printing way too green/yellow

I have the same problem. Your printer head is clogged. You can use the head cleaning utility within Epson. However, if that doesn't work, you may need to use a head cleaning solution.

How to remove print head of epson stylus photo r1800 BEWARE SPAM NUMBER +1-800-532-4187 BELOW

Had the same problem - but the print head is actually easy to remove.

1) Remove ink cartridges
2) Remove 3 Phillips head screws at the bottom of the cartridge housing. (looking down from the printer front - top left, bottom left, top right).
3) There are 2 small plastic tabs on a plastic bracket that secure the flex cable on the right hand side of the cartridge housing. Gently release the tabs with a small flat head screw driver.
4) Lift the print head straight up (don't pull on the flex).

There may be a release for the flex to separate from the print head. But I did not see one. Instead I poured 1/4" of Windex in the bottom of a small plastic container and soaked my print head for about 15 minutes (occasionally agitating).

Then put back in reverse order - be sure to seat the flex in the guide (top-back-right) of the cartridge housing before screwing down. Then run a cleaning or two to flush the cleaning fluid out of the print head. (I have a waste ink tank installed so I am not worried about dumping excessive ink into the waste sponges).

The differences was remarkable - though there was still slight banding - maybe should have soaked longer (1 hr perhaps?) - I may repeat if it remains an issue.

Additionally there were large solid deposits on the left side of the print head which were responsible for scraping heavier weight photo paper. These dissolved in the Windex too.
