In order to use Outlook with your yahoo account, you need to have a Yahoo! Mail Plus Account. You'll find the instruccions here:

http://help.yahoo.com/l/ca/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you have a yahoo.com account, replace .ca by .com
for exemple pop.mail.yahoo.com and not pop.mail.yahoo.ca

This depends on whether or not you pay for your Yahoo email account. Yahoo has restricted the POP3 downloading of emails from free accounts. If you pay for your email account, you can download mail by going into the email options on the website, and enabling POP3 email access, and then they provide you with the instructions to download your mail with Outlook 2003. Otherwise, you have to use the website to get your mail.

How to retrieve lost emails after lightning blew up computer

Lightning blew up your computer? How? Did it actually strike the computer... unlikely, but if it did....you now have a molten piece of technology what you can call "to be recycled". :-) What you really mean is lighting caused a power surge with travelled through the wired connections in your home and upset the Operating system as well as some programs, namely your e-mail program. In this case, what e-mail system ae you using? YAHOO, GOOGLE, OUTLOOK?
For any INTERNET type email, you have to contact the appropriate provider's support and explain what happened and hopefully they will have a copy of your emails. FOR MS Outlook... Check your Deleted FOLDER... if it's not there, it's probably residing on the server, BUT.... you have to ensure, the setting "KEEP MESSAGES ON SERVER" is checked in OUTLOOK.... In Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010/2013:
  1. Go to Tools, Account Settings in Outlook 2007; File, Account settings in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013
  2. Select the Email account, click Change (or double-click on the email account)
  3. Click More Settings
  4. Go to the Advanced tab - leave on server settings are in the lower section
In Outlook 2003 and older:
  1. Tools, Email Accounts
  2. Select View or Change Existing Accounts
  3. Select the Email account, click Change
  4. Click More Settings
  5. Advanced tab - lower section
Hope this helps!

How do I setup microsoft outlook 2003 to work with yahoo mail?

Well., it depends whether you have a free account or a paid one.The server access to yahoo for the free account holder using the outlook application has been restricted by yahoo. You can not configure the free account of yahoo in outlook.
However, if you have the paid account you can configure the outlook.
Visit the below links to configure the paid account:

How to connect yahoo mail using windows mail in Windows 7

You cannot configure Yahoo account with Windows live mail.
And the reason you are getting the error because you have Micosoft outlook in the pc and that email client (MS outlook) is not configured with your yahoo mail and it is not the default email client in your PC. Windows live mail is the default email client in your PC and you cannot configure Yahoo account in windows live mail.

I cant receive my emails

You can't receive emails? You need to give more information. Are you using a Web mail (i.e. Yahoo mail, Gmail) or are you using an e-mail client (i.e. Outlook 2003/2007; Outlook Express)?

Email clients uses two types of account, POP3 and IMAP.

If you are using an e-mail client like Outlook 2003, you need to change the incoming mail server. Please follow the steps below:

For Outlook 2003/2007:

1. Open your Outlook and then click on Tools.
2. Go to Accounts or Email Accounts.
3. Go to Mail tab and you will see the account that you have created (like pop.gmail.com or imap.gmail.com)
4. Double-click on pop or imap account and then go to Advanced tab.
5. You will see the Incoming Mail server.

By default, the incoming mail server is set to 110, you may change it to 995 and then select SSL. Then close and reopen your Outlook and click the Send/Receive button.

Now, if you're just using a Web e-mail like Gmail or Yahoo mail, you need to check your storage. There's a possibility that you reached the quota storage of your email that's why you are not receiving emails. You need to contact your email provider for this problem.

If you have a router on your network, you need to check the router settings and perform a Port Forwarding. You have to open the port 110 or 995 so that you could receive e-mails.

These are the things that you need to check and consider.

Have a great day!

How to Synchronise yahoo mail in MS Outlook 2003

The problem is that in order to use Yahoo email on a Outlook, POP3 or HTTP, Yahoo asks you to get Yahoo Mail Plus. They are forcing you to pay for 19.99 a year to be allowed a POP3 account to use for your Outlook 2003 and mail forwarding.

I've tried several methods, even trying HTTP: mail.yahoo.com

Ive even used software that said it would allow this. But no luck.

POP3 is only provided and activated by YAHOO when you pay for the yearly subcription.

Sorry. Thats really the only solution there is to this because yahoo controls their services to every user.

I hope this helps.
