My panasonic dvd recorder dmr-es40v comes on but wont do anything?

My panasonic dvd recorder dmr-es40v comes on but wont do anything! i reset it but the screen on it just says F60 wat does it mean and how do i fix the thing so it plays movie's/dvd's please help THX

i have the same problem. I am so pissed. I can't press any buttons or do anything. Please help.

I have the same problem - has anyone found the solution?

Nothing works... I can't power it off - I can't remove the CD nothing.... I unplugged- replugged.... etc... when I plug it back in.... it goes to the F60 again. Help!!

I was supposedly upgrading the firmware and when I put the CD in.... it just locked up.... nothing.

Panasonic DMR-ES40V VCR won't schedule record: Recently, the VCR will not do scheduled recording anything beyond today. I can schedule a recording and it appears OK (I get red light on panel), but I never...

I found this solution on one of your old notes (but a different machine). I set up a scheduled record for 11:59 PM to 12:01 AM for the current day, then set up the scheduled record for the next day. The VCR recorded both the initial 2 minute session and the later one which I wanted to record.

Panasonic ES40v - Can't play DVD's - Incorrect region

I had the same trouble, also wouldn't play back discs that I recorded using it. The commonly listed reset of channel up and down at the same time was not meant for this model.
Below is the official solution that was sent to me by panasonic.
After using this method to reset my player it worked great. it was just like taking it out of the box for the first time.

Dear Valued Customer,

Try this reset to fix the issue.

1. Unit power must be on.

2. Press [STOP] & [VHS > DVD] ON THE UNIT for over 5 seconds.
