Norelco Advantage red light meaning and source of manual

My Norelco Advantage shows a steady red LED when placed in the charger and blinks in red several times when removed. I don't have a manual. Anyone know what the red LED means and what several red blinks are suppose to indicate. If you have a manual, does it discuss the red lights? Can't find a manual on line.

The manual has very little on the meaning of the light.
From the section on charging:
"1. First time charging requires a full 8 hours. Green Charge Indicator Light may begin to blink befire 8 hours has elapsed, however, continue charging razor for the full 8 hours. After the initial charge, the razor should be kept in the charging base and will recharge automatically.
Recharge at temperatures between 40 and 95 F. Charging at lower or higher temperatures adversely affects the life of the batteries.
A full charged razor will give approximately 36 minutes of shaving time.
2. Press ON/OFF button OFF. Place razor in Charging Base and plug Base into outlet. The ON/OFF button will light.
3. When the razor is fully charged, the light will blink green.
4. Return razor to Charging Base after shaving.
5. When the light starts blinking red, you need to recharge your razor. You will be able to complete the shave."
The only other mentions about charging are:
"IMPORTANT: To insure optimum battery performance, razor should be run until battery completely discharges twice a year."
"Always place razor in base first, then plug base into outlet. To disconnect, turn razor off then remove plug from base from outlet."

Turns out that a solder connection I made to the battery pack had failed but made periodic contact. Resoldered it and everything works fine, now.

NIKON MH26 BATTERY CHARGER BLINKING GREEN LIGHTS

A blinking green light means the charger is charging the battery. A steady green light (same LED) means that charging is complete. If the light never stops blinking and we assume that your charger is working correctly, you may have a defective battery. Rechargeable batteries do not last forever. After a few years, there ability to take and hold a charge declines. It may be time to buy a new battery.

I can't find the charging manual and I am intuiting from the drawings that if it has a steady flashing red it means it's charging, but I would like to read the instructions.

Operator's manual for DW926K-2 is here. It doesn't specifically address solid red light, but that's what mine does when I first put it on, so solid red indicates that it is charging.

If it is flashing the red light with two fast blinks followed by a
pause. This means the power source has out of spec for the charger (such as a generator not producing electricity at 60Hz).

If the red light flashes long, then short, you're in Hot/Cold Pack Delay mode which means it won't charge the battery until its temperature has stabilized.

I hope this helps! If so, please vote. Thanks.

Hello. That is a reminder that it is time to change the head, to maintain optimum shaving. It will blink the next 7 times you turn on the shaver. Here is the manual if you want to read more about it. http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/1/1050x_22/1050x_22_dfu_aen.pdf

Norelco arcitec -when I turn off red indicator light showing shaving heads illuminates - has not happened before - what does it indicate?

It means that it's time to change the heads. You can purchase replacements at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

http://shaveroutlet.com/norelco-philips-rq10-arcitec-replacement-heads-p-353.html

Once you replace them, you will need to reset the indicator light. This should be covered in your user manual. If you no longer have your manual, you can view one at the link below

I no longer have the owners manual. What does it

According to the manual, the red light comes on while charging when the battery does not yet have enough charge to sustain a 3-5 minute shave. The green light stays on steady while the razor is charging, and blinks when it is fully charged. If your battery life is short, they might need to be changed.

Steady Red Light

From the sounds of this.. It's all due to bad keying of the polarized charging plug. The solid red light PROBABLY means you're battery is pretty darn dead. It'll need a new battery(not worth the cost imho. get a new jabra, and be happy once again) At a certain low voltage, the red light starts blinking. when it drops below the preset threshold, it will shut off completely. If it sits too long at this discharged rate, the battry WILL self-terminate. If the voltage drops below a certain level, it's ruined. Also note, most Li-ion cells will only last a few years. 2-3 years of "full power" is usual. Mine's 2 years old(steady usage), and showing signs of it's age.

"My red light won't go off even though I charged it all night.
Also, a small piece of plastic came off the charge opening. I don't know if this is will pose a problem to the use of the Jabra BT150."

This is probably the most telling bit of information. It means you DID plug the charger in upside down. It will NEVER charge in that configuration, as it is supplying power to the completely wrong pins. If the battery was good to start with, it shouldn't hurt the headset, but never know. I have accidentily plugged it in backwards for a couple min before noticing, with no ill efect, but YMMV.

"Doesn't anyone from the Jabra manufacturer check this site?"

NO (especially not for discontinued products)
