Surely not during 'Rinse' cycle? That just adds water and gently tumbles to get the soap out and complete the washing by further agitating the clothes. You must mean during spinning and much depends on if it is a front loader, or a top loader. For both, machine not level front to back and left to right and / or not sitting firmly on all 4 feet.

If the washing is not distributed evenly by the time it reaches the rinse/spin cycle, it goes back to rinse cycle. Be present at the machine when it reaches the spin cycle. observe the drum to see if it is of balance and swaying to the sides, if so distribute washing evenly. Kenmore front loader. stopped at rinse. First ck to see if you washer works at different settings if so its very possible its your timmer or what called the wig wag or solonoid this switches the machine to spin & rinse. A basic service call should resolve your problem.
I have had a repair guy out for a separate issue and been told my knocking noise most prominent during rinse and spin is the bearings going. I have a samsung WDJ1225c front loader
