Contact a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (or equivalent if you are not in the USA). www.nhtsa.gov It MUST be reassembled correctly. Do not guess!
We would advise you contact the manufacturer of the carseat as the likelihood is that the unit will need to be sent to specialist engineers to inspect and put back together correctly. Due to safety implications of the harness being incorrectly fitted it may not be possible to do this yourself.
Try checking out Graco's site to see if your car seat model is listed:http://www.gracobaby.com/CustomerService/ProductInstructions/Pages/default1.aspx?page=ProdInst You can also try checking Manuals Online. They have lots of car seat manuals available for downloading for free:http://babycare.manualsonline.com/manuals/device/car_seat.html
Due to the safety implications of the carseat harness being incorrectly fitted if the harness has been completely removed from the carseat shell it would need to be sent to engineers for them to re-fit the harness. What country are you in we can direct you to the appropriate customer care team to arrange this.
have you received an answer yet??? I have had to take off and put back on mine at least 10 times now.....If you still don't have an answer I will take mine apart and re-cover and write steps down as I go....it is a hard cover to take on and off....it still takes me about 20mins to get it all together....you may want to consider buying a easy remove cover to go overtop of your pre-existing one. Let me know if you need help
