We have a Wurlitzer rave on juke box that will not play the audio on a video CD. will pick up, place and spin, but no audio. Plays ordinary audio cd's ok, just not those with a video.

Is this Wurlitzer designed with a screen to play videos? Has it played video CD audio in the past?
There are a lot of different audio/video file types and some CD setups will only play 'audio' file types, (MP3, AAC, M4A). If the file format is commonly used as video the electronics in the player won't recognise the format and won't play it.

Have a Jensen Audio CD-472 portable AM/FM Stereo CD player that won't play my Memorex CD's that I compiled with songs in MP3 format. Can you tell me why this has happened? The commercial CDs I have in my...

I know that some players were not designed to recognise some formats of CD, often those created by computer drives. But if it did play them it must have developed a fault in the electronics part that recognises CD formats. Hence it's problem now. Without a service manual perhaps a tricky thing to put right.

UCD 110 - Doesn't recognise every CD and will only play some CDs. I've tried cleaning the player with a CD Cleaning disc but to no effect.

I've had the same problem with a denon ucd 70,had the laser replaced and still the problem remained. Finally it appeared that a little wheel which moves the laser over the disk was broken and therefore the entire system finally couldn't read any cd anymore It started with some cd's however.
Still looking for a replacement wheel and fear that I have to buy a full new laser unit

Nad 502 CD will not recognise and play CD every time

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens, or misaligned loading mechanism. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more

My zen stone won't rcognize new music I put on it. It appears as synched but does not play

Hi,

ensure the music you are putting onto it, is in the required Format ( MP3 et,c )
If you are transfering music direct from CD ( WAV ) the player won,t recognise or support it. Therefore you need to convert from WAV To MP3. You can use nero to do this.

No disc displayed

The disc won't spin until the unit recognizes that there is actually a disc there. Try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails, try playing a CD. If the CD plays, the optics are starting to fail as reading a DVD requires higher laser power.
