LCD HDTV turns off, displays lines & static & loud screeching
Sylvania 37" lcd hd tv (under 12 mos old) & has worked really well, then a few days ago it suddenly turned off while I was watching it & The green power light was rapidly blinking. When I tried to turn it back on, it immediately shut down again. I waited 30 min for it to reset & eventually got it to stay on. Then an hour or so later it turned off again. Each time I try to turn it on it shuts down. (Lots of lines appear on the screen & there is a loud noise when this happens.) So, I bought another tv. (Element 40" LCD HD TV), and had it on for an hour or two & it worked perfectly. The next morning when I turned it on it did the same thing the Sylvania did--displayed lots of lines & static and made a really loud screeching sound. The odds of that tv being bad too seem slim, but the power company has been out twice and swears there is not a problem...PLEASE HELP!
Check in your manual and follow instructions on updating the software. you download the file to computer then move it to a memory stick (USB), then simply insert it into the tv
