Trying to download movies from Panasonic DigiCam VDR-M50 - I am using DVD RAM disk. I run Windows Vista Ultimate on my notebook. Is there a Vista driver available for this camera - or can I simply use the DVD rAM disk (I tried this but the format is unreadable). Please help - thanks.
Plug the camera in via usb so the camera shows up as a removeable drive. if it picks up the camera as a DVD burner instead of drive, install the DVD-RAM drivers (in compatibility mode for XP SP2 w/ administrative privileges if necessary) and browse the contents of the disc - copy and paste the VRO file to your hard drive and rename it as an mpg - should be readable at that point. good luck.
DVD DIGICAM VDR-M50
I could not copy and paste my video files, but the following worked for me.
I opened my folder in explorer (I have Windows Vista - Home Premium) right clicked on my movie VRO File and clicked on "send to compressed (zipped ) folder. (this was added to the disk contents) unzip and saved contents to desktop. Open desktop folder and rename VRO to AVI. My video then opened automatically in Windows Media Player.
