F2 Oven over temp - exceeded 590F with door in unlocked position or 990F with door locked If actual temp condition occurred, look for welded relay contacts or high resistance connection or any cause in the oven temperature sensor circuit

I get an F2 error code and the broiler element will not shut off, even when oven is turned off! Had to flip circuit breaker to shut it down. What part do I need?

Follow the wires from the sensor to the control board and check the ohms there. It should be around 1050-1100 ohms, if the oven is at room temperature. If it is close to the correct ohms replace the control board. Probably a stuck relay on it.Here is the board to order.

All parts come with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Whirlpool oven shuts off - Error Code F2

The "F2" error code for this oven means "one or more keys on the keypad are shorted". The correction is to replace the control panel because keypad does not come separate.
The part is not available but if you call the number of that supplier I'm sure they may find the part for you.
Here is the info.

When I turn my oven on bake the broiler element runs and eventuly the f2 codes comes on.

your oven uses fboth the broiler element and the oven element during baking. Since you know the broiler element works, you most likely will have to replace the oven element.

Broiler won't turn off. Error code F-3

The broiler won't turn off even when you press the "Off/cancel" button? It sounds like the broiler control relay is stuck shut. The F3 code means the oven temperature sensor has failed, this probably happened because the oven got too hot when the broiler was stuck on. There is fail-safe thermal fuse that will blow if the oven gets too hot, so the oven won't melt down but you should leave the unit off so you don't blow the fuse.

To fix the relay, you will have to replace the oven control module. I think this is about $200 and not too hard to replace if you are somewhat handy. The temperature sensor is also serviceable, you can find parts at Appliance Parts Pros on the web. Hopefully you haven't thrown the range out yet, let me know if you need further assistance.

F2 error code

Similar problem. When baking over 400 degrees we get the F2 code that can only be reset by cycling the power at the breaker. Replaced the electonics to no avail. I'm thinking its the cooling fan located between the oven and microwave (upper unit) it never comes on which may cause a separate temp switch to generate the F2... but I'm not a pro. :)
