My 97 lasabre periodically stops running at any speed or even stopped. It will not start back up until a few minutes later. It will turn over but not fire off. sometimes it take 10 minutes and sometimes it takes an hour or so before it will start again. What is causing this?

When the problem is happening, you need to check to see if you've lost spark or fuel. when you try to restart the car,can you smell gas? if you can,you need to pull off a spark plug wire and put a screwdriver into the end of the wire. set it down 1/4" or so from a metal ground. have someone crank the engine, see if there is a nice strong spark. if so, you're fuel pump is probably faulty. it's inside the gas tank

2010 Lincoln MKS Heated Seat on driver's side stopped working (Light in button turns off on its' own)

The most common cause of this problem is that the drivers seat heater grid is open or burned out. That is based on 25 years as a Ford dealer technician.

I have a 97 jeep grand Cherokee, when it has sat for over an hour it takes 8-10 seconds of the starter running before it starts. If turned off after running, and started within a few minutes no problem,...

Fuel pump. The valve in the pump that stops the fuel from draining back into the tank is not working so you crank and crank until the fuel gets up front. Turn the key on but not to start for 5 seconds then off do it five times and then try to start it should start right up

Engine quit when stopped at stop light. Acted as if it was choking then died. Tried restarting. Turns over strong, no start. Thought maybe no gas. Added gas after about 30 minutes. Started first try....

Sounds like the fuel pump is going out. Replace the filter first, as it's only $10. If that doesn't fix it, then it's probably the pump, which is $250.

My 97 expedition starts and runs good I'm driving down the road, Then the overdrive light starts blinking on the end of the shifter, So when I come to a stop then start to go again it shifts real hard....

With the light flashing ,codes are stored in the transmission control module . Have the codes check an this will tell you whats wrong . Probably a sensor or shift solenoid or line pressure solenoid .

2002 chevy suburban shutting off whil driving in extreme heat

I had the same problem with mine. I installed a fuel pressure gauge, and drove around until the problem started. The truck should be running between 48 to 56 lbs. of fuel pressure. Mine ran at idle at 42lbs. , not even high enough. Drove it for about 20 minutes, and it started to stumble. Fuel pressure dropped to 30lbs, 20 lbs - then all the way down to 2lbs. I shut it off, and it would not start back up. 30 seconds later, I turned the key and it came up to 10lbs. press. 10 more seconds 20lbs. After almost a minute, it came up to 42 lbs. started and I drove away. I replaced the fuel pump assemb. on 7/3/2008. Drove it around, and the problem is gone. Mine is a flex fuel, and the pump retails for $668.00. I did find a AC Delco pump for $221.00. I hope this helps.
