1st, unless you have a solar panel on this cam, stay away from rechargeable batteries. When new they will be @100+%, but have to be virtually drained to get to charge back, and then will only charge to about 80%.A solar charger will keep them @ above 80%.
Now, to solve your prob;I have found dirty/corroded contacts;evidence of dampness/corrosion @battery connections to main board; and fireants...they are attracted to electrical and will electricute themselves causing open connections...just a few solutions to ck out.

Moultrie camera mfh-dgw 2.1 buttons stopped working and reads no battery power with a new battery. Then Poof it shows full battery and then buttons work, then poof battery level shows nothing buttons don't...

Although I am not totally familiar with the camera, I would try a reset. This worked OK for the Canon I got. Like, remove the memory back-up battery, wait for 30 seconds or so and put it back in. This should do a complete reset. There is also the possibility that the back-up battery needs replacing, that could give the same problems. Good Luck.

I HAVE A MOULTIE DGW-100 AND THE BATTERY SAYS LOW ALL THE TIME AND WIIL NOT FLASH IT ALSO SAY THAT THE SD CARD LOCKED

never had much luck with 6v lantern bats...drain too fast.Moultrie estimates 20 day life...less if you're getting a lot of events...I recommend the "equivelent"..6v, 4AH or higher rating...
The SD card may be "locked". Check that small switch on side of card is pushed toward contact strips.

Worthless batteries won't last DGW-100

Try rechargeable batteries if your are using AAA. Some cameras just stop working with the AA one-use batteries. If you have a lithium or other specialty battery, try getting another battery. Your battery may need to be replaced.

BATTERY FOR THIS MODLE WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE WHY?

Try a differnt battery. Some batteries are bad right off the shelf. Keep the camera out of direct sunlight as this seems to drain my batteries faster than anything. Write back with more details of your problem if this doesn't help.
