Hi

You need to run the Disk utility and format the drive first.

You will find disk utility in the applications folder then the utilities folder if I remember right.

Format the drive, make sure its set on the MAC OS setting, journaled if I remember right.

It should work after that, all content in the drive is lost if any is there.

Plug your USB imoga ego usb drive into your computer.

Click on the "My Computer" icon at the top of your computer screen.

Double click on the iomega USB icon.

Right click in a blank space in the middle of the window to pull up a small menu.

Select the "New Folder" option from the menu to create a new folder on your Iomega USB 2.0 drive.

Drag all of the files that you want to protect into the new folder you created.

Right click on the folder that you created and select the "Properties" option from the menu.

Go to the "Sharing" tab and click on it.

Scroll down to the "Make This Folder Private" box and check it. Click the "OK" button and wait for the window to close.

Do not know how to install the ego portable hard drive (iomega). I have put the cable into my laptop but nothing happens.

Check if the cable is properly connected. What is the operating system of your computer (win 98, win xp, vista or win 7)? Have you tried connecting it to other computer?

Is it possible to boot from an Iomega eGo Blackbelt Mac Edition Portable HD and also use it to clone an existing drive? I want to upgrade an existing 160GB Internal HDD in a Macbook Pro 17" to a...

It's possible to clone to this drive, but over the USB interface, it will be very slow. Firewire would be faster. It's also possible to boot from it, but again, it will be slower than an internal. What you've described, however, IS possible.

I have brought the iomega Ego yesterday and connected it to my laptop just now but it wont let me put anything onto it .. I have no idea how to use it .. Does anyone know how to use it?

Does it show up in your "my computer" You should be able to drag any file into it or just make new folders and then drag files into. Let me know if it still won't work.
