I thing u need to buy a blue tooth device which is gps enabled and u need to pair it with ur nokia 5230 then gps will work. But if u live in india like me then i must say the blue tooth device with gps is not available in india. If u have friend in uk ask him to get it for u. And then call Delhi 011-30303838 nokia customer care and they will guide u or search the net and for bangalore the code is 080

You do not need a separate GPS antenna to get the GPS function to work. The problem is that the built in antenna is not very good. So it takes a long time to lock on and then will lose the lock if it gets cloudy or you are around tall buildings. Once locked and in an open area, it works well. The free maps make this a very nice application if you travel outside of the USA where most of the GPS units you buy will not have maps unless you buy the very expensive maps sold by the GPS maker.

In the near future I plan on trying to pair my phone with an outboad GPS reciever to see if that works better.
