It's highly unlikely that your camera is incompatible with your computer. It's probably a question of how you're trying to transfer the images. I'm guessing that you're using a cable to connect the two. Check to see if your computer has a slot for the memory card - if it does, remove the card from the camera and stick it in the slot. Then you can transfer the photos just like you would any other files. If there's no card slot, you can pick up an SD card reader ($10-15) that goes in a USB port and do the same thing.
My best suggestion however is get another camera. 2 megapixels is just not enough to give a good photo. You can get a good used one for very little money. An older model with 8 - 10 megapixels should suit you just fine.
Use a card reader to transfer photos from your computer to your camera.
The camera is intended to take photos for eventual transfer to a computer. It is not really designed to go the other way. Thus you'll need to use another device (such as a card reader) to go the other way.
Bear in mind that if the photos were taken with a different camera, or have been edited in any way, the camera may not display them. Opening a photo in a photo editing program on a computer and saving it without making any changes counts as editing.
You will need to have an SD card (memory card) whether it be normal, mini, or micro (depends on the camera). Depending on the type of camera you can go to the pictures and move them to the SD card or copy them to the SD card. You can also try hooking up the camera to a computer by USB cord and transferring the files to the computer.
Yes purchase an USB micro SD card reader. ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.
If you haven't transferred the photos from the card to some other device then the only way you'll see those photos again is if you find the card. It's like anything else you have only one of. If you lose it, you've lost it.
Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but that's the way it is.
Hello - You're camera has a little less than 10 MB of memory with sounds exactly right (2-3 photos) with a 12 megapixel camera. Such images are large.
You need to purchase a memory card to insert into your camera to store pictures. Your camera takes several kinds of memory cards but I suggest your purchase a SD memory card of two GB in size. You can get them almost anywhere, Super Markets, Chain Drug Stores, Places like Walmart, Kmart, etc.
It'll cost about $15 or so.
