I have a cingular 8125 phone.whenever I insert a new SIM in it,it says"you have entered 8 times.please wait to retry"even if i have not locked the SIM by SIM lock code .It even asks for in when I enter a new SIM.

It's asking for a PUK code, which you need to get from your provider. You can call customer care and they can give it to you. If you put the wrong code in 10 times your phone will permanently lock, so be careful!

Please follow these instructions very carefully.

1. Turn off your phone, put in a SIM of a provider that it is not
locked to, and turn it back on.

2. At the wrong card message, type *#9998*3323#.

i.e ( star/hash/9998/star/3323/hash )

A message will pop up telling you to press exit, Press exit.
Choose malloc fail.
Your phone will reboot and your SIM will work.

3. Type *0141# and then hit call.
This will give you a message saying your phone is personalized.

4. Power down your phone and insert a SIM card other than the one that is in it.

Power back up your phone.

5. At the SIM code prompt type 00000000, (that is 8 zeroes.)
Your phone should now be unlocked

Notes

In newer phones it is possible to use this alterative to above Simply type in keypad #*7337#) With no sim in phone

Cingular Samsung SGH-C417 unlocking solution

Insert a non accepted sim card into the phone

1.First with SIM in phone at WRONG CARD screen ENTER on the keypad
*2767*3855# (wait 10-15 seconds) phone will reboot(restart)

2.When phone completes reboot ENTER
*7465625*638*00000000*00000000# (Network Lock Personalized)

3.NEXT ENTER
#7465625*638*00000000# (Network Lock Deactivated)

PERMANENT UNLOCK CODE SAMSUNG SGH A117, T429, T729

Insert ANY unaccepted SIM card in the phone and then turn the phone on, follow the steps in 1 to 4 below to enter all the codes. The phone will states "Wrong card" at the end of step 2 and "network lock deactivated" at the end of step 4 if you do everything right so pls take your time to enter the code or follow the instruction correctly at each step. When entering some of the zeros at steps 3 and 4 your phone may display the zero as hyphen or minus (-), dont worry, just count when entering the zero to ensure you enter just the right numbers of zeros. Now let's begin... 1/ Put any unaccepted SIM card in your SAMSUNG SGH Phone, turn the phone on, it will display "WRONG CARD"

2/ At the wrong card screen, type *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#

3/ Now remove the battery with the SIM card, Put the battery back and turn the phone on again without the SIM card, it will display "Insert SIM card" 4/ At the insert SIM card screen/end of step 3 above type #7465625*638*00000000#

At the end of step 4 phone will show "network lock deactivated" 5/ Now Reinsert your unaccepted card or any other unaccepted SIM card in the phone and enjoy your unlocked phone!

PUK means the code for the SIM card has been entered incorrectly.

You need to contact Cingular / AT&T to get it from them. No one else will have it.

Contact Cingular if the Sim is locked. Only they can unlock the phone legally IF they locked it. If you locked it and forgot, I would still suggest calling them about it. Doing anything on your own with this problem could void warrenties and insurances you have on the phone. You could also lose service if you do it yourself.
