The power switch on my vaio fw-270j is broken. Can this be replaced?

There maybe a fuse on the motherboard in the power supply circuit.
That would be a quick check to save putting in a new motherboard.
If you're not a technician, I would not attempt.
Board level repair or replacement would be the only solution.
You could also find the exact model Sony WAIO and swap the HDD.

Kindly try the following...
- remove the battery and power on the laptop using power cable.
- issue not fixed.. remove the power cable and make sure you have not installed the battery ...then press and hold the power button for 30 sec.. then check at the bottom of the laptop if you have access to memory card if so try to open the back cover and reset the memory card and check.
-issue not fixed.. if you have access to the wifi card try and reset the wifi card and check
-if the memory card and wifi card is inaccessible then you will need to visit service center or call support

Try to go to another place where there is free WIFI like Starbucks or similar place.

If the computer can connect there, the the problem is with the WEP KEY on your modem/router. You need to update this key on your computer's wireless connections.

Try using another monitor using the external VGA port (15 pins and blue)
