I have gotten the F7 Error Code. I can use the oven for a short amount of time and then the error code comes up. I can turn off the power to the unit and it resets only to happen again. Please, any suggestions

I also have the same problem with the F7 flashing, but at times I have cannot use any of the buttons on the oven. Nothing works, no matter what button you press. We tried turning off the breaker like it says in the manual and that helped for a while. We had someone come and look at it and when we turned the breaker back on everything miraculously was working. I was charged $50 for a call out fee and then the next day nothing works again. We have been told this would be $500 and $750 to replace the control panel. The oven is eight years old and to be honest is not used as much as most households. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

We have a 5 year old GE Profile gas range and we get the same F7 Error code repeatedly. Lately, it occurs more frequently than before. We unplug the range for 5 minutes per the troubleshooting instructions in the manual, but it still does not respond correctly. In fact it appears only to respond after being unplugged overnight...But of course it doesn't last.. We are told the service call is $80, plus an expected repair/replacement cost of some $300-$400.

It appears to occur mostly when we use the oven...Perhaps it's an electronic component that is sensitive to the oven's heat?

I'm not sure what your problem is, but I have the same one. My stainless steel glass top model ?? is beeping all the time with error f7 on all the 4 tem control readouts. I'm guessing this is your problem as well. By turning the temp knobs it will stop, but sometimes restarts later for no reason. Other sites mention a ribbon cable on the touch controls (if yours has it, mine does ) that must be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. You turn off the power, and after unlocking the cable you clean the contacts with an easer and a q-tip w/rubbing alcohol. I don't know if this works but I might try it as the beeping is driving me crazy! The service techs will try and sell you about $450 in parts to fix the problem. This problem apparently has plagued these units for almost 10 years. Seems heat makes the cable get shorts at the contacts.

I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS YET so beware, but I had a short in my microwave and the site helped me fix a $500 control board for about 15 cents ( jumped a short on the board with a small wire!) Hope you get your problem fixed.

GE oven flashed f7 d6 error. Replaced key pad, same error again. Replaced ERC board and still f7 d6. What now?

It's possible that a faulty ERC (Electronic Range Control) could damage a new keypad, but it's not very common. The F7 D6 error code indicates a problem with the communication between the keypad and the ERC. Here are a few other things you could try:
  1. Check the ribbon cable connection between the keypad and the ERC. Make sure it is securely connected and not damaged in any way.
  2. Try resetting the oven by turning off the power to it for a few minutes, then turning it back on. This may help clear any temporary glitches that are causing the error.
  3. If the above steps don't work, it's possible that there is a wiring problem or a faulty component in the oven that is causing the error. In this case, it may be best to call a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.

Oven shows F7 error problem with irritating beeping sound

F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
