After changing out the black ink cartridge it keeps saying that I have an alignment problem and to check paper alignement. I have done both 5 times now and it is still saying I have a problem when there is no problem with either of these things! HELP!

Try this

Turn off you printer
remove the cartridges
and try gently moving the ink cartridges carrier from left to right
for about a min.

also you can try to wipe machine oil on the bar that holds the ink cartridge carrier
then put the cartridges back inside the carrier
then turn on you printer
and try to print again
If problem persist

TRY THIS:

turn off your printer
unplug the power cable from the printer
lift you printer and put it in an upside down position
then shake the printer from left to right
see if there's any foreign objects stuck inside the printer

I had the same problem. I only really need the black cartridge in there but had both in there when I put in a new black cartridge. If you only want black to print, take out the color cartridge and go through the alignment process again. Otherwise it may be the other cartridge and you might need to replace both (money maker for the cartridge makers). The endless loop problem is a disaster for Lexmark & I can't believe they can't put together a software fix.

I have replaced black ink but printer keeps telling me to replace black ink cartridge

If the it's a remanufactured cartridge (not genuine), the printer will not detect the ink in the cartridge.
If it's genuine, you might want to give Lexmark's technical support a call to have the cartridge replaced.

Lexmark X4650 InkJet Printer black prints fuzzy. Color is fine, but the black appears out of focus.

Try to check and make sure your black ink level is still good and not about to go empty. On the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Maintenance > Ink Levels.
If the black ink level is still good, make sure the cartridges are aligned. Try this approach. On the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Maintenance > Align Cartridges. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them as well as align the cartridges.
Try to print a document again to verify that the print quality has improved.

My lexmark will not align after installing new black ink cartridge what should i do i have tried everything the printer suggests

What is the version of your new black cartridge? Make sure you are using genuine a Lexmark cartridge. If you've already tried reseating the black cartridge and rebooting the printer yet problem continues, it could be a faulty black cartridge. If you're beyond the return period, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

Recently renewed ink cartridges in Lexmark x4650 with genuine Lexmark replacements and keep getting one or two lines of 'wavy text' per page

This can either be blocked nozzles on the cartridge, or an alignment problem. Go to Start - All Programs - Lexmark - Solution Center and print out a Clean Nozzle Page and an Alignment Page from the maintenance tab. That should fix the issue.

SAys replace ink cartridges.. did that but still

Hi,
The problem sometimes is that when you unpack the cartridges a little bit of residue of the packaging stays in the printhead of the cartridges. Here is a link that shows you how to clean the nozzles. http://www.bit.ly/aBjxGa

Check your color ink by dabbing on a damp paper towel, you should see 3 distinct lines, one for each color. If any color is weak or missing it will never pass alignment and you need a new cartridge.
