This is a women's Bulova 96R31 chronograph watch. The problem is with the stopwatch part. It began when the second hand for the stopwatch started stopping at various minute marks instead of zero. I would pull the crown out and reset this. Then a few days later the stopwatch second hand froze at the two minute mark and has not wanted to reset back. Pulling the crown out to the three position and resetting the top /and or bottom buttons no longer works. The hand is frozen yet the watch keeps correct time and date. (The watch hour and minute hands work, it is the seconds hand that is frozen). What do you think the problem could be?
The problem is in chronograph module or related gear train. To find what exactly the problem is, special tools and equipment is needed as well as watchmakers knowledge and skill. There may be just an underpowered battery, but according to your explanation, I tend to think that the first causes mentioned by me are the right ones. Visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask to check your watch for any faults. Rate me, please.

Watches often sit on store shelves for many months. It may well be a battery problem. Try that first as it is the least trouble. If not send it in for warranty repair, include a detailed explanation. The watch has a 3 year warranty I think.

my watch date was wrong. while winding it clockwise many revolutions to correct the date, I passed the date mistakenly. i turned it counterclockwise to bring it back, but after bringing it back I pushed back in the side winder but the second hand refused to move since then. I try to push the top button above the winder, the hands of the watch just move at random for one rev around the hour marks and stops. How can I get it fixed? please help?
