Records in .avi format. Want .mpg

have you looked at VLC player it has web cam record function and video recording. may have to cheque in settings for save format and it completely free

you have an internal recording device. It consists of a built-in webcam and microphone. to make a recording, use the cyberlink webcam program that's pre-installed on your laptop. you'll find it listed somewhere in the start / all programs list in windows 7. also, for sound recording only, the windows 7 audio recorder is located under start / all programs / accessories / sound recorder. select it and click the red record button. also, windows 7 has a feature or program called problem steps recorder. it records activity on your screen including mouse movement. i don't know if it records sound. to access it type psr in the search window and select psr in the search results, then click on start record.

there is a connect cable are u using that cable

Acer crystal eye web cams only take pictures, I have not seen one that could record video.

TRY THE CONTROL PANEL

After more thorough testing I think I partially solved the issue...
The Bad News:
Diamond wrongly promotes in multiple places that it only captures in MPG 1, 2 and 4.
Also most of the settings in the "Setup" tab capture a format different than is labeled. Here are my findings translated: DVD= MPG#, SVCD=MPG#, VCD=MPG1?, MPG4=MPG4, AVI=AVI...etc
The Good News:
After understanding their cryptic format names, you can capture in 8 different formats!! And the format I was interested in was AVI so I'm happy. :)

go to the sound recorder available at start ---> programs ---> accessories then entertainment ----> sound recorder.

click on edit -----> Audio properties -------> default input device and change it to the external Mic you have connected.

The sending of video to a website can be done in a few ways so it makes sence to start with what you have to begin with,

Your web cam should have the functions you are looking to use so read the help section to clarify any points,

Normally you produce the final edit to a file or folder.
Then you log on to the storage site your using and export the file to where you want it.

might be u have changed the format of recording the cd players support only selected formats only like mpeg 4 mp3 divx etc u might have wrong set the recording format to some other format like wma,dat,avi etc just check the seetings of the software
