My electrical cable is broken and I need a new one, where can I get one?

You will have to contact the manufacturer UNLESS the damage is some way from the multi plug that goes into the machine. If the cord is damaged over say 6" from the machine any semi skilled electrical person could make you up a lead and allow a new cable to be used. This even applies to foot pedal leads.

Most cables actually go through a cable hole in the foot control. If you are trying to replace the cable, you will need to take the foot control apart to attach the cable inside. Be very careful! Most foot controls are made of plastic and can be easily broken. Search the internet to for instructions for repairing your machine's foot control.

That's because when you put your bare feet on the pedal you are not 'completing a circuit to earth' .. the power has no way of earthing.

Touch the machine as per normal .. the power from the machine finds its way to earth through your feet .. on the floor.

The machine has - probably - a defective earth wire. First, remove the plug and check that the earth wire hasn't moved/broken.

Then check the cable .. any lumps/breaks may have allowed the wires to bare and short circuit.

If in doubt - and if you can - replace the lead from the machine, alternatively, ask somebody who can do it for you. Not a big job.

Don't continue using a faulty machine.. it's your life on the line

if it is an electronic unit with a os program then the manual should show where to hook up a usb cable so that you can down load the new version from the web site. from your computer.

test the outlet is working ok, then test the power adaptor, ensure the light on the machine is on and try working your way up the cable incase the cable is broken, if there is no light on the adaptor but is g etting warm after a while then one can assume it is working but this is not a 100% test. if it stays cold it could be defective and needs replacing. if you have another adaptor of the same type try using that to see if the machine works. best is to take to a repair shop or send it back to Brother if it is still under garantee.

if the touchscreen cable is broken or damaged, the only fix is to replace the touchscreen assembly with a new unit which includes a longer and more robust amber color cable . I suggest that this repair should only be done by an authorized Viking dealer.

the transformer has broken solder connections between the pins for the plug and the transformer board. Brave? 4 phillips screw. Black box on bottom. remove ribllon cable. Transformer out. 2 screws black cover on transformer off. Theres the board with broken solder joints to the plug pins. The large plug they used on that model broke the solder joint easily. it shoudlnt be blowing fuses though unless he tried to fix it and put in wrong one.

Don't buy, if you do not know how to fix it.
