Here is a video to show you how to open the washer.

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control. You say this happens when the washer is empty also. One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.

If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.

The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Without a complete model number, I'm guessing but usually, washers have a lid lock built in that prevents the washer from draining or spinning unless the lid is closed.

If the lid lock is defective, the washer probably won't go into spin mode.

Check yours for the lock, where it attaches and replace it. It's probably not too expensive.

There are two separate motors, one for the tub and one for the pump. They are both controlled by the motor controller board. Since you say the water drains, the pump appears to be working but since you say the clothes are wet, the spin probably didn't happen. I would suspect the drive motor or the wiring for that motor. There are procedures on the web for testing the wiring and motor windings. Good luck. Check for a kinked or clogged drain line. The hose can be removed from the pump and the pump can be checked for clogs. Take a flashlight and look into the suction port of the pump and look for any obstructions (like the occasional stray sock, for example). Also check the pump impeller for broken or missing blades and ensure that the impeller spins freely. If not, the pump is defective. Hope this helped and best wishes.

The washer filled with too much water, causing a switch to trip. Then everything stops. It tries to drain during FL but if it can't drain, the washer powers down.Choose Drain & Spin to let the washer drain. Then you have to take the washer apart. Fix the problem. I personally can't tell you what to do because I don't own a Calypso.

If you are not comfortable disconnecting the drained washer from power and water, and tipping it up so you can unscrew the bottom cover to do this, you can order Sears part # 3954702, which is the diagnostic paperwork that lets you run the washer through its paces one step at a time to help isolate problems.

However, the washer usually should have come with this paperwork, secreted in a plastic pouch up towards the top of the washer attached to the outer case way at the top (therefore hard to get to from the top without opening the top and sticking your arm to the inner surface of the outside case to find it).

Use a flashlight to look for it, and if you remove it be careful not to tear it up, and by all means do not lose it!
