Its not jumber ,its a looks like a switch..
First try to see is there any lock in your pen drive and see if its not locking it, you will see a switch which locks the pen drive at one side and unlocks it when you slide that switch to other side ,some drives comes with that option to protect it ..but if it is not

Use the Registry Hack to Disable Writing to USB Drives
Here is the link .just download the zip folder and after opening the folder you will find a file just double click on it..

I tried to reformat, format and deleting files. the messages is write protect

Solving this program will probably require the use of a special disk-formatting utility written specifically for Kingston USB flash drives. Your BEST option is to contact Kingston directly:

http://www.kingston.co,/support/default.asp

Answer the questions on that page and follow the prompts to get help from Kingston. They will know how to help you solve the problem at no cost. If all else fails, they will issue you an RMA number so you can return the drive in exchange for a new one. Kingston customer support is excellent, so contact the company at that URL and they will help you get your USB drive working again.

This Disk is write protected

Hi!
if you use Windows XP or earlier, then - right click on your flash drive, goto "properties" -> uncheck "read only" checkbox.

If you use Win 7 or Vista - then use administrator account to run format (shift+right click on program, choose "run as administrator" ). the easiest way in Win7/Vista to format your flash drive is: Start -> all programs -> Accessories -> shift+right click on command prompt -> "run as administrator" -> type fromat driver_letter /q /y and press enter (e.g. if your flash driver has letter z, then you need to type format z /q /y and press enter). This will quickly format your flash drive.

If you use Linux/Unix/MAC OS, then you can use GParted or following command in terminal:

1. su
2. Enter password when asked
3. fdisk /dev/your_flash_drive_name (e.g. dev/sda/)
mkfs -t vfat /dev/your_flash_drive_name

Hope that will help :)

My usb flash drive is write protected how can i remove it

USB flash drives are made of a small amount of flash ram and usualy the size of a persons thumb.

the software that resides on them determins if the "disk volume" is write protected.

if a software program other than the native software that came with the drive has write protected "files" that exist on the drive you will need to find out the name of said program and follow the proceedures for changing the write protection of those files.

USB problem

I had the same kind of problem with my 32GB Transcend USB Flash drive. I tried all the things I found in the internet (Apacer software, Registry fixes, Kingston software, HP Flash Disk software, you name it!) but nothing worked. Always I got Write protected error. Finally I found the program called MiniRMATool which solved the problem. Search MiniRMATool_XP2K_v1.rar in Google, run it and then you will be able to format your drive.
