I bought this TV without remote (demo). It works fine and using any universal remote, I can control everything but the DVD functions (play, pause, etc.). Currently trying from Logitech Harmony 550. I'm beginning to wonder if TV itself is broken with respect to remote functionality in DVD mode, but tend to dismiss because every other function (including menus in DVD mode) work. I can manually control DVD functions from the TV itself. On a side note, even though this model is still sold at Walmart, RCA maintains the remote is no longer being produced, so I can't find a replacement original remote... Thanks in advance, Fred

Ditto. Same problem. Same response from RCA
Same problem. I bought a display model from Wal-Mart, with no remote, and can,t find one that will control all aspects of T. V.. Love the T.V. but sure am frustrated at RCA.

OK - I should have read this forum yesterday....I bought this model today - a floor model at walmart for $260...couldn't pass it up even though there was no remote nor any manual - I can get the manual online.
But I haven't been able to get this TV working with the DirecTV universal remote. (a bit frustrated).
Exact same problem here too.
Maybe not the same problem, but similar: My TV occasionally gets stuck on the DVD screen, (when I'm not even watching a DVD), and will not respond to remote nor buttons on the top of the set. I have to unplug the monitor, and then it "awakens."
I do not have the remote for model CD130MW8 and cannot arrow up or down to play or advance the DVD to lesson or section or workout 2, 3 or 4 etc.
