My 670 remote programmed activities are TV, Movies (DVD, VCR) & Radio. Will I be able to program the Wii gaming system on this remote? (I basic ? before I start looking for instructions.)
Re: Setting up my Wii system using Harmony 670 Remote
Hi,
I just thought you should know the Harmony Remote is only able to control any device that uses infrared control. Unfortunately the Wii console uses Bluetooth technology which means the Harmony Remote would not be able to control it.

Because the Wii does not have IR receivers, it is not directly compatible with the Harmony remotes. However, you can still create a "Play Wii" activity that will turn on your other devices that are needed for the activity and set them to the correct inputs. So, for example, you would still need to turn the Wii on manually, but you the "Play Wii" activity would turn the TV on, set the correct input for the Wii and activate your sound system (if separate from the TV). Hope this helps!
The functions that have to do with the TV the remote will 'When in the TV mode' will do all the Panasonic functions. When you switch the remote to the Sony or what ever manufacture DVD you programed it to. It will work with that DVD only and the same with the VCR and so on. Hope it all makes sense! 1. Login to your Harmony Remote Account. 2. Click on the Settings button next the Watch TV Activity. 3. Choose Review the settings for this Activity. 4. When the software asks What input does the AV Receiver need to be on, please choose the Input that you herd sound coming from when doing the testing. 5. Continue through the setup until you are brought back to the Home Screen. 6. Click on the Update remote button and follow the on screen steps. 7. Once the update is completed, please test the Watch TV Activity.
Once installed, you will simply run the software, and select the devices you would like to control from menus. The software finds the right codes for you and loads them into your remote control.
Your Harmony remote does not use codes. In order to program the remote, you must download the Harmony software, which you can download at http://logitech.com/myharmony. Once you have the software installed, you will be prompted to create an account and complete the setup.
Hope that helps.
Check out the Logitech Harmony series of remotes that can be programmed to operate all your electronics from activity-based buttons. For example pressing the "Watch Movies" button will turn on the TV and select the DVD input, turn on the home theater, and turn on the DVD. Then the buttons on the remote will control the appropriate device (home theater for sound, play buttons for DVD, etc.)

Update the firmware:
- Launch the software.
- Connect the remote.
- Click "Downloads"
- Click "Firmware."
- Update the remote.
That will get the remote out of safe mode.

Do you use a Home Theater receiver along with your televison? Are other components, such as a DVD player, VCR, Blu-ray player, etc. connected?
If so, it's possible that the Mute function on your remote is muting the sound from your receiver, and not the TV itself.
If that's the case, you'll need to look at the details of the "default" buttons for your activities, and see whether the Mute function is associated with your TV or your receiver. If it's set for the receiver, you need to change it to be associated with the TV.
