The new battery goes in the back of the Altec Lansing imt702. Remove the two screws on the lower back of the unit. The battery is connected via a clip connector. Simply press on the raised end of the clip, and pull off the other end of the connector. The battery is a Lithium-Ion 18650, 3.7V, at least 1800mAh. If you can get a battery with a higher-rated mAh, this will give you longer run times. It might be difficult to find a matching power connector on end of a new battery though. The unit will still run with the battery removed, but of course, will not power without the AC adapter connected to a wall outlet. If your unit has problems, continuously asking to Reset itself, or display+buttons flash (with volume increasing +1 for each blink), this indicates a charging problem. The battery needs to be replaced or removed immediately. You can reset the power manually by holding down the metal clip at the back of the unit for a minute, or just closing the leg/stand to see if this works. To reset unit's factory settings: hold down power & radio << channel buttons for 7 secs, press Power when asked to Reset?, Region=1 for US stations, & press Power again to set Region. Note that the battery is being drained even if the unit is off, so keep the AC connected; completely draining a well-used Li-Ion battery may shorten the rest of its battery life. Remove the battery from the unit if not in use for long periods.
The battery goes in the back of the im600. On the back of the im600 unit
there is a small access panel towards the bottom part just below the
inputs/outputs where the remote is stored. At the top of this panel there are two small 00 phillips
head screws that need to be removed. Once the two screws are removed the
panel will come right off. Inside you will see the NTA2455 battery.
Simply switch out the battery with a replacement battery found here:
MH29654 NTA2455 MCR18650 Battery for im600 Speaker Dock
You can
stick the battery to the unit with some double sided sticky tape to keep
it firm if desired). Replace the panel and two screws and you are all
done.
