I do not know how to install shipping bolts into my whirlpool washing machine. I bought the bolts at Sears.com but they didnt' come with directions

My fornt load washer in the spin mode of any cycle bounces all over the floor. The unit sits on a plastic mat on a wooden floor. I have already adjusted the legs in an attempt to balance the washer. Is the plastic mat most of my problem?

Can the old bolts be reused?

I have a whirlpool duet sport 8500 and can't seem to get the orange end to line up with the washer. The top ones I can get fine, it's the lower ones. The bottoms still have a good inch to go, and can't budge. Even when I do the lower ones first. What am I doing wrong?

A total of four shipping bolts need to be installed: two longer ones on the bottom and two shorter ones on the top. Each shipping bolt consists of a metal screw inside a plastic cylinder which fits between the washer suspension and the back of the washer cabinet. The metal screw pulls the washer suspension against the plastic cylinder which, in turn, is pulled against the rear cabinet, thereby securing the suspension against the back of the cabinet. The Whirlpool part number is 285955. These bolts can be ordered from various suppliers for $20 - $30. To install these bolts, you will need a 13 mm wrench and a flashlight so you can see where the bolts screw into on the washer suspension.

The procedure is as follows:
1. On the back of the washer, remove the 4 plastic covers over the oblong shipping bolt holes. Carefully pack these covers with the water and drain hoses as they will be needed when the washer is re-installed in its new location.
2. Using the flashlight as a visual aid, look inside the oblong holes and identify the area on the washer suspension into which the shipping bolts screw. It is a white plastic part that is not directly behind the the shipping bolt holes, but is slightly above that level.
3.Look at the shipping bolts. The bolts described above (Part number 285955) have a a plastic arm at one end . This arm must be sawed-off for installation on older machines. You will have to determine whether or not the arm needs to be removed.
4. Starting with the bottom two holes, carefully slide a shipping bolt through the hole toward the front of the machine. Angle the bolt upward toward the screw mating hole, and carefully guide the bolt into the hole. Use the 13 mm wrench to engage the bolt into the mating hole.
5. Make sure that the plastic end of the bolt is closely seated against the back of the washer cabinet. Using the 13 mm wrench, screw in the lower two bolts, but do not tighten at this time.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the upper two shipping bolts.
7. After the plastic part of all 4 bolts has been firmly seated against the back of the washer cabinet, carefully tighten all 4 bolts.
8. Go to the front of the washer and push on the drum. The drum will rotate but it should not rock. If that is the case, then you are done.

LG front loader washing machine 6 years old - has been stored for 3 of those years and moved - now installed and levelled but still getting vibrations when spinning -

Have you removed the shipping bolts that hold the drum in place while it was moved. If not, remove them and the vibration will disappear. If you did not install the shipping bolts when you moved it, there is a reasonable chance you have damaged the machine and will need to have it repaired.

What does error code F7 E1 mean on a whirlpool VMW washing machine

This code indicates a motor speed sensing error, the motor can not achieve the correct speed for the cycle selection.
Have the shipping bolts been removed?
This error code indicates that the motor is having difficulty turning.
All four (4) shipping bolts and the plastic spacers must be removed from the rear of the washer before you operate it. Each unit is shipped from the factory with four bolts, which are designed to secure the washer during shipping. Failure to remove all of the shipping bolts, and the four plastic spacers that are with them, can result in noise, vibration or error codes. See your Installation Instructions for details on how to remove the shipping bolts.

Were you washing a very large load?
The washer may be overloaded for the cycle you are running. Remove a few items from the load. See the Cycle Guide in the Use and Care guide for loading suggestions for each cycle.
To remove the error display, press Power once. Then press Power again to restart the washer.
If pressing Power does not work:
  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.

Where are the shipping pins on a centennial 300

The installation instructions are here:

http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Installation%20Instructions%20-%20W10200890.pdf

From looking on pages 4 - 8 of the manual there are no shipping pins. There are 20 steps to the installation procedures and none of them include the removeal of any shipping pins.

However... that being said if there are any shipping bolts it is usually ONE bolt in the back of the machine near the bottom of the tub carriage on SOME machines. It does not appear that this particular washer has one.

WE recently purchased a front loading Frigidaire washer. I love it except we can't seem to get it level so it doesn't vibrate. It is on a concrete floor and thought the feet were self leveling but that's...

Make sure you have removed all the shipping bolts and straps. Front loaders come with bolts that go thru the back to keep the drum from moving during shipping. If you brought the washer home yourselves you may have left in these shipping bolts. Refer to you installation manual. It will give detailed instructions on how to set up your washer. If bolts are left in place the washer will vibrate and shake excessively and cause major damage if left in for too long.

Lost or not retained shipping bolts

Just looked at mine (we had to order them before the military would move ours). They are two different sizes, have a long plastic washer (lengthwise), and are - believe it or not - like a lag bolt on the end! A hybrid mess meant to force us to order them, if you ask me. Not sure you should try rigging it, best if you order them, you'll see what I mean when you get them. Sorry, we were in the same boat too. Wish I never bought this LG, but that's for another post.
