Have Dane-Elec 4 MB USB; works in one CPU great, in the other, I had to reboot, and then when I look at "My Computer" it appears and disappears every few seconds and I can't access it. Running XP both CPUs.

In Control Panel, click on "System." When the System dialog appears, Click on "Device Manager."

In Device Manager, click on "Disk Drives." That should drop-down and reveal your USB drive as a USB device.

Right click on your USB device and click uninstall, then reboot.

This procedure will uninstall the drivers for your device. After rebooting insert the USB drive into a port and a "Found new hardware" window should popup. allow internet access and reinstall the driver--this should be pretty much automatic; just make sure you allow the program to search the internet for the latest driver.

Good Luck!

My computer doesn't recognize my dane-elec 8gb usb stick , although other usb devices do work.

1. Try a different USB port. If other ports recognize it, then the original port is fried. 2. Try a different computer. If the other computer does not recognize it, then your flash drive is damaged.

Good Luck!

Dane Elec 4gb USB Not Readable

Try it in a different computer or even a different usb port on the computer that you are using. If a second computer gives you the same error, then the drive is either damaged or its filesystem is corrupted. In the first case there is not much you can do. In the second case you may be able to reformat it to make it work, but you would lose any data that was on it.

USB with plenty of capacity but apparently no availability

i just had this same problem. go to tools > folder options > view, and under hidden files and folders, click on show hidden files and folders. then click okay. then delete those hidden files, which were written overtime and stored onto the usb without your knowledge. the usb will have full memory space after you're done :)
