Sony A100 compatible lenses

Hi guys,
I'd have two questions if you don't mind
I own a Sony @100 and i'm wondering if I could find a list of compatible auto-focus lenses that fit on it.
Someone is proposing the following two lenses but I suspect they are not auto-focus.
Minolta 50mm 1:1.7
Minolta 50mm 1:2
could you help me out please ?
Thanks guys !
Mike

Virtually all the old Minolta lenses are compatible with the new Sony SLRs.

For the two you mention, you will need to check whether the lenses are the AF or MF versions.

Both will fit, but AF is the auto-focus one, and MF is (obviously!) manual-focus.

Will a lens from a Maxxum 5 work on any digital slr's? And if so, which ones? I am looking to buy a new camera and would like to use my same lense.

Hi,
The Maxxum lenses will work on Sony DSLRs.
The Sony models A100 to A700 will multiply the focal range by 1.5 because the sensor is smaller than a 35mm frame.
So a 50mm for example will be a 75mm f1.7.
On Sony A850 and A900 they will be the same as a 35mm film body.
I use Minolta lenses with my Sony bodies all the time and they are excellent.

I have a sony alpha 100 i want to buy a 1993 minolta maxxum 3xi with 35-70 and 70-300mm lenses. Those minonolta lenses are compatible with my alpha?

I took the following off of the Alpha website
"Sony Alpha lens mount
Identical to the Minolta A-type bayonet mount, enabling the use of a large back catalogue of existing Minolta and third party lenses"

I know that the lenses that fit my son's Maxxum will not fit my non-Maxxum Minolta bodies. VERIFY THAT THE LENS YOU WANT TO MATE TO YOUR SONY HAS THE MINOLTA A-TYPE MOUNT.

Sony a100 match ups

Yes, when Sony took over Konica Minolta they inherited the Maxxum lens mount (Minolta's AF lens mount system). the only Minolta lenses which don't work are the earlier manual focus type.

Sony have finally launched three new models which are the first to be clearly Sony designed, but they have still retained the Maxxum lens mounting.

Lens ? Are the lens' from my old reliable sony f828 compatible with the sony alpha 300 I am thinking of ordering? Is there a fix if not?

You can try going to the camera store, and finding an adapter ring for it I've got an alpha 100 and can use konica/maxxuum lenses, and with an adapter I can also use Pentax screw mount.I wouldn't have bought the sony a100 unless it would take my other lenses too. Take the old lens and the a300 in to try out for a good fit.

Sony A100 compatibility

It would help if you actually gave details of the lens!

All the old Minolta AF and MF lenses will fit the Sony A100, but only the AF are auto-focus compatible.

Since the Maxxum 7000 was an AF camera, I would image that that is an AF lens pictured on the front.

Sunpak pz 4000af for minolta

Hi,

The Alpha 100 only supports pre-flash TTL and ADI flash control which are not supported by the Sunpak. The flash should ignite, but automatic controlling of its brightness is not possible.

QUANTARAY FOR MINOLTA AF 70-300MM compatibility

Usually mounts are unique to a camera manufacturer. There are exceptions. Sony has the Alpha; lenses for the Konica-Minolta are the same mount. Your AF (autofocus) lens will work on it. You might also consider picking up a Konica Minolta 5D or 7D.....they're no longer made and hence are cheaply had.

The MD and Rokkor lenses won't work on the Sony Alpha.
THIS IS A CHEAP LENS (<$50 VALUE) SO I WOULDN'T LET IT DRIVE YOUR DECISIONS!!

AF problem with Quantaray 2X adapter

How does it stop working? Do you mean it doesn't auto focus anymore?
Many longer focal length lenses wont auto focus with 2x teleconverters on them.
