Radio scanner not receiving

My realistic pro 2025 scans but boes not receive any signal,not even the weather. I have a radio shack pro-49 that receives and both have the same fregs.

    I have a PRO-30 with the same problem. The radio will scan, but does not receive, including NOAA weather. While I'm not good at electronics, I think I'll take it apart and start by looking my antenna wire. After this, I'm not sure what to look for.

    Anyone have some troubleshooting ideas???

I ha ve realistic 2032 which is doing the same thing and was wondering because everything else including all the functions work fine including hearing white noise and being able to control it with the squelch could this be the end for it or is there stuff yet to do

The Realistic Pro-2025 relies on a quartz lock-loop signal synthesizer to receive signals, the synthesizer might of gone bad, chalk it up to old age. The Realistic PRO (Progressive Receiving Occilator) models are not around anymore, they went obsolete years ago. It's nice that you have one, they are worth some money on eBay. However I'm afraid it will cost you more money to fix the synthesizer than the radio is actually worth. It would be best to use your Radio Shack PRO-49. Realistic is a division of Radio Shack founded by Tandy Corp, basically you've been using a Radio Shack scanner the whole time. So if you have any complaints, take it up with them, you won't find Realistic anymore.

Weather chanel comes in costanty
Cannot have a regularly scanned channel be a weather channel. press 'manual' on the WX channel, then press the 'L/O' "lockout" button and it will keep the WX channel out of the scan.

My scanner (radioshack Pro 2018) doesn't receive signals from local poloce, ambulance and so on. What do I need to do?
First, try scanning the Weather band to see if you scanner is working properly. If you don't pick up anything, your scanner likely needs some professional help. If the Weather broadcasts come in, then you just don't have the correct frequencies programmed for your local services, and it's possible that your area is using a trunked system - which your scanner is not capable of receiving. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies and systems in your area, Visit:

The site will tell you if trunking systems are in use, and it will also provide a wealth of other useful scanning info.

My pro-82 scanner scans threw all channels but will not pick up any frequencies?
To verify that the scanner is working properly, program one or more of the weather frequencies(162.4, 162.425, 162.45, 162,475, 162.5, 162.525, 162.55, 161.65, 161.775, 163.275) into memory and then scan. NOTE: Not all frequencies are in use in all areas, so you may need to try several. If you receive the weather broadcasts, then you may need to adjust the squelch setting on your scanner to receive local signals. You also need to verify that the frequencies programmed into the scanner are valid, active frequencies in your area. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, and a lot of other useful scanning information, visit:

If the scanner fails to receive the weather broadcasts, you need to check the antenna connections inside the unit and/or have the scanner checked/repaired by a qualified technician.

press the manual button a few times, and make sure there are actually some freq. programmed into the unit. if there are freq other than 000.000000 in there, press the s/s (lockout) button and see if this unlocks the frequencies to allow them to be scanned.
