Model #KB-6015k sharp microwave drawer has an automatic open and close function that will not work. the oven was in DEMO mode after the power outage. I unplugged it to reboot and plugged it back in. the oven works now except for the auto open and close function.

I already contacted sharpusa.com and the three providers do not service this microwave drawer. It is 5 years old so out of warranty.

The drawer often stops working when it is abruptly stopped while opening and forced closed or vice-versa. To fix, simply do the following:
    1) Push the draw all the way closed
    2) Push the "Setup" button repeatedly until the "Open/Close ...?" appears.
    3) Hold the Start Button until the time reappears in the display.
    4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 three more times
    5) Unplug the Microwave for 30 minutes.
The drawer is now reset. The drawer will now open electronically (automatically) either by pushing the open button on the panel or by pulling the drawer handle slightly.

Hello :

If it opens little bit then i advice you to take a doctor syringe filled with break oil that you use in cars and inject the joints of the door with it . Don't give it big loads , just little stitches .
If it doesn't open at all , then put it in a warm or better extra warm (not hot ) place or atmosphere for about two hours until the it absorbs the temperature of the place , then grab it from the door handles and dip it in extreme cold water while holding the door handles , don't dip the door inside the cold water . Now it should open ... after it opened i advice you to do the syringe trick.
if you did the syringe trick , i advice you to let it for a long while to let the brake oil get deep inside the door joints ..
By the way you can use this syringe trick with noisy doors and windows at home ..

good luck ..

i hope that helped .. if yes , rate me well please !

Hi, there are two ways to this problem.

If it is a simple counter to microwave oven, then you can remove the cabinet, open the door from inside of the microwave to diagnose the problem...

But if it is an over the range model, then it is more complicated and you probably have to call a qualified technician to fix it.

In any way replacement parts, most likely, have to be ordered from Sharp only....

Take care

He's saying their drawer microwave is no longer opening/closing by itself. Not a door. Ours is now doing the same thing, resetting the power didn't do anything for it either. :(

There probably is a fuse inside but replacement depends upon your degree of comfort with disassembly while maintaining awareness of the dangerous voltages lurking inside.

Drawer tries to close and then opens

I would suspect that a foreign object may have gotten in the pathway of the drawer, the drawer actuator is out of adjustment, or one of the door sensor switch is damaged, defective, or off its mount.

Unit was working than just shut down, the display went dead.

hello,

the solutionhas noting to do with reset button or code

what the problem is from the element (heat provider)it is always is silver colour all it means is there is disconnection from it or it is bad.

what you need to do to fix up your oven is to unscrew it and then trace down the wire to the heater (element) but if you did not see any sign of disconnection then you will have to make a change of the element it mean bad .

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Microwave has no power

Sounds like a power board malfunction. Repair technicians usually have a minimum "bench fee" probably $50 - $75 / hour but they should be able to fix it within that hour. You will also have to purchase the power board, probably around $100 so you're probably talking about $165.00 to have it repaired.
Good Luck

How can I get the power to come on my Sharp microwave?

The problem may be an electrical one. Microwave ovens require a lot of power. Often, they use most of the power available to the circuit they are plugged in to. If there is not enough power in the circuit to feed the microwave and whatever else is plugged into that same circuit the fuse will blow or the circuit breaker will kick off.

Go to your electcical box, and check the breakers or the fuses. If one of the breakers has kicked, reset it by pushing it all the way off and then back on. If the fuse is blown, unscrew it and screw in a new one of the same amperage.

good luck. please rate my answer. thanks
