The DVD power surges when it is trying to start, the display goes dim then it opens not playing at all, the dvd dose not turn when loading unless helped.
I would really appreciate some assistance with this one,

check for bad capacitors (make sure its top is not bulged), check for bad step down transformer on unit. one or more of these may need to be replaced, if you are replacing faulty capacitors, make sure they are of same uF ratings, the unit will accept a +/- tolerance difference of 10%
