I want to open gmail or chat....please help - Google Gmail

This opens a chat with the contact in question in the lower right corner of your Gmail screen. Click the small video camera icon within the chat window to initiate a video chat. Before the chat begins, your contact must accept the video call. You and the person you're calling must have webcams. Most modern laptops come with built-in webcams, and peripheral webcams are available at computer stores.

To have voice and video chat enabled in Gmail you should install a software from Google called Voice and video chat from http://www.google.com/chat/video?hl=en
After the installation you may have to log out and log in again to Gmail.
Please note that for video chat your partner has to have Voice and video chat installed as well as you.
