If you have Windows XP you must have the proper driver for the sound card. If you have Windows Vista it will usually find the right one for you, if you have Windows 7 it will either have the driver or reject the sound card's driver if it doesn't meet Windows 7 standards. You would then have to downgrade to Windows Vista or XP.

Make sure it's the right driver for the sound card. Good luck!

I cant install sound driver at my HCL ES2 desktop?it has been installed but when it displays fownd new hardware it cant search for driver
First remove the driver if installed.Then re install the sound driver and when you connect the found new hardware then dont let your computer find the driver you give the path where you have that diver and then install it.Your problem will be solved if not then look for the latest driver of sound.

Cant install sound , i have not the driver therefore cant install sound software.i try many from other software but not support my board.
YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GE DIRECTLY TO HP.COM
SEARCH FOR DRIVERS AT THERE SITE, MADE A FOLDER ON YOUR DESKTOP AND SAVE DRIVERS THERE THEN INSTALL, U CAN INSTALL DIRECTLY BUT IF U SAVE THEM U WILL HAVE THEM FOR GOOD.
DRIVERS WILL BE FREE FROM THEM

Sound Driver!
if u cant install the sound driver just buy a USB sound adaptor and connect it to the USB port and connect the speaker sound jack to the sound port in that....u will have sound....also keep in mind that u " may" have to disable onboard sound in BIOS 381403d.jpg

you dont need to disable your onboard sound card you may install more than one, if you are using an old sound card without driver just search for the ship driver on it"IC" .

I have the sound divice but i cant play any thing and i dont here
possible sound device failed, or drivers not the right ones, my newer note book had failed sound device (code 10 cannot start) it started doing static when listening. the failed all the way. i now use an external sound device myself that was about 15 dollars now i have sound again without large cost. this may be an option for you.
