Is this a sudden onset problem or has it always been like this?

A traditional turntable requires a Phono preamp inline with it to PRE amplify and frequency-balance the minute signal produced by it's cartridge for later amplification by a power amp. Most stereo receivers and preamps have Phono connections and internal preamplification strictly for that purpose. Recent AV Receivers generally do not.

You don't say what electronics you're running this through. I suspect you have it jacked into a Line Level input instead of a specific Phono input. The result would be very low, tinny sound.

If so, you need to get a Phono Preamplifier.

I was given a Stanton STR8-30 turntable, I don't do alot of vinyl play but some and enjoy it, will this table be ok to listen to my records on? I keep hearing this table will damage my records. Thanks

Not sure how a turntable will damage a vinyl record - the turntable merely turns the record at the right speed and it is the user's task to ensure the unit is level, the tone arm is in good order, a suitable cartridge and stylus is installed and the correct adjustment of stylus playing weight has been checked. A record deck is not really a plug-and-play unit but more a hobby; requiring tools (spirit level, magnifier, stylus balance) and a certain amount of skill and knowledge.

How do I connect a Stanton SCS.4DJ turntable to my pc

This is a simple to use unit. Just plug the "line out" of the turntable to your "line in" on your PC or laptop. This is to just straight up record what you're mixing or playing as an audio file.

Just check the connections to the cartridge on the Stanton. Make certain they fit and are correctly fitted. Also check or replace the stylus, if it is not new.

Stanton str8150 decks. motor problem

If it stops after a minute of rotation, then there is something wrong there. If it's brand new, I would say return it, or send it in for warranty repair.
