Check the owners manual for limitations on the external memory. Sometimes the MP3 player has a limit on external memory. Lets say 2 GB. Also make sure the lock switch is disengaged. Also try to reformat the player.

Hold/lock is engaged
Rest the player

when the memory is full, this one will all of a sudden only read a smaller card size - delete some of the songs

My ilo model number mp-556 suddenly stopped working so I put in a new battery and all I could get out of it was a loading screen. you cant expect all mp3 players to play as many songs as u wnt. each mp3 player has a limit of memory card that needs to be attached. see whats the maximum memory your mp3 player can support. and also see if you can locate all the songs when the SD card is connected to your computer

I just got an ilo mp3 player and when I try to sync songs from Windows Media Player 11 to it, it only puts about 1/2 of the songs on it. It says it has plenty of memory, so what's the problem?

http://www.lenoxx.com/2005/mp3player/mp556.htm if you have a ilo model mp-556 (on the back cover) this page has links to the firmware ... i follow the instruction and got mine working. u might need to use the reformat as well as the upgrade firmware to make your list read the same. reformating will set your storage area back to factory specs. i e delete all your songs on your player
