Pfaff hobby 301 manual how to thread my sewing machine

Are you sure of the model number? Pfaff doesn't have a Tiptronic 1020, just a Hobby 1020. The manual for the Hobby 1020 is not on the Pfaff site: http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support-and-Updates/Support . There is a Tiptronic 2010 and that manual is here: http://www.pfaff.com/SiteMedia/PFAFF/Products/Machines/Support-manuals/Tiptronic_2010_2020-manual-EN.pdf?ext=.pdf . Some sewing machine parts vendors do offer the manuals for sale.

Basic operation of 301 Lock Stitch sewing machine

Refer to the owner's manual, pages 15 (pressure dial) and 25 (tension balance). It may also help to review page 21 (threading). ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the machine.

Maybe it just needs new carbon brushes. My Bernina 830 Record resembles the Pfaff very closely. I had issues with the motor stuttering. Changed the carbon brushes and it runs like a top!
