Yes, hdmi will give you better results..
are you running hdmi to hdmi connection on tv from cable box?
if so, that is correct but as for the dvdr, what tv port are you connecting it to? i would use another hdmi cable for the dvd too for best picture resultif it's an option on your dvd.. you should have multiple input outlets on your lcd with 1-3 options for input devices via analog or hdmi.. so analog is not hdmi--hdmi is digital so it switches to the hdmi resolution when you turn it on..

let me know how it goes and if i was helpful involving resolution.. helpful feedback is appreciated.. thanks, d

your dvd player should be set to a different

How do I connect a dvd player to tv with no scart connection

Make and model of TV would help.
Very odd TV with no SCART and only a single HDMI. You sure it's not a computer monitor? happy.gif
If the TV really does not have any sort of analogue input you will either need to buy a disk player with HDMI or an analogue to digital converter (the former may well be cheaper!), And if there is only a single HDMI you can but switches to expand the number of HDMI inputs if necessary.
User manual here
http://documents.knowhow.com/TV-Home...nal_120524.pdf

Refer to page 15 which states:
"Use a included SCART adapter cable to connect
between the TV's SCART input socket and a SCART
cable to an external AV device's SCART output socket."

My 3 years old polaroid TV , hasn't hight definition , three months ago, we take off the cable system and connected to a regular antenna , with the cable it gave us a very good sight , but now ...

Hi
High definition [HDMI] is a format used in tranmitting signals with cable connection. Transmissions are of analogue, and so the set will recogonize it and will chanve to it automatically when you connect the extrnal antenna. There is no way to chage an analogue signal to digital within the Tv itsef. It will display the signal as it is. Definition of analoge signals will be very less than [HDMI]. OK.

I have a baird OR42BAFHD tv and am trying to connect it to my hi-fi. The hi-fi only has the usual auxillary red and white input jacks but i cannot see were i can connect them to the tv which has several...

Hdmi is digital minded while your hi-fi is analogue signals, you have two possible options I think if your TV has no phono audio out.

Your scarts (number 1 only) will have analogue in's and out's a scart lead with audio in/out to phono (come with a switch mostly) or adaptor is required some I have seen at one time had a plug one end and socket the other with output phono's in the middle, so to monitor signals going each way (TV > VCR or VCR > TV).
If you are not using the scart then just a simple scart to phono will do, note scart sockets on an TV only one will give an output.

The other route is a converter for hdmi a device that will convert digital signals to analogue, while the video element can have problems (on cheap units) through poor design/technicals the audio should present no problem, look for hdmi to audio converters.

Hope this helps.........

How to tune in for blu ray dvd

You do not tune in your Bluray player but connect using an HDMI cable or Composite cable. If you have a HDMI cable connect the Bluray's HDMI out to the TV's HDMI in at the back and using the TV's remote switch the Input source to HDMI. You will see the image from the Bluray player in high definition.
If you don not have a HDMI cable connect the composite out of the Bluray player using the Yellow/Red/White cable to the TV's composite input ( same three color sockets ) and switch to AV input on the TV. Using this connection won't give you high definition image but will work OK.

Audi but no picture when cable box conected through DAV-X1

It won't work as the DAv can only output to HDMI by bringing singal into the HDMI input.

why wouldn't you send it directly to the TV and Audio to the DAV? I sounds like you don't have an HD box anyway (otherwise why would you use an analogue S-video cable vs component or HDMI). Unless there is a distance issue then go to the TV.
