3 beeps when powering up, no video - eMachines W3611 PC Desktop

  • Anonymous Feb 18, 2010

I reseated the memory and still got no post. I swapped expansion slots and still got 3 beeps. I think the memory has gone bad. I'm gonna buy some new memory and see if that help. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

0 beep = no power, loose card, short
1 short beep = normal,POST (Power On Self Test), your computer is ok
2 short beeps = POST error, review screen for error code.
continuous beeps = no power, loose card, short
repeating short beeps = no power, loose card, short
1 long, 1 short beeps = motherboard issue
1 long, 2 short beeps = video issue
1 long, 3 short beeps = video display circuitry
three long beeps = keyboard/keyboard card error
one beep, blank, incorrect display = video display circuitry

aside from the 1 short beeps, you need to take your laptop to a technician to have it looked at.

cheers mate!

I have recently built a new PC with an Asus P8H61-M and upon turning the PC on I am recieving no Visual on either of my monitors

Hello

If this is the first time to turn you on your computer check first the power supply of your computer if connected to their proper connector. Check your memory if clip properly in there memory slot. If you are using Video Card check it if it is properly connected to the connector. Then connect your VGA connector at the back of your computer when you have video card connect the VGA Cable of you monitor to the video card VGA output if does not have connect it with the onboard VGA output. Then press the power switch if the unit is still no visual in monitor try to search or hear a beeping sound in your computer by its on board buzzer. Find which beep you hear from your computer.

No Beep- No Power, Loose Card, or Short.
One Short Beep- Normal Post,, Computer is OK.
2 Short Beep- POST error, review screen for error code
Continues Beep- No power, Loose Card, or Short
Repeating Short Beep- No Power Loose Card or Short
One Long And Short Beep- Motherboard Issue
One Long and Two Short Beep- Video (mono/CGA Display Circuitry) Issue.
One long and three short beep- Video (EGA) Display Circuitry
Three Long Beep- Keyboard/ Keyboard Card Error
One Beep, Blank or Incorrect Display -Video Display Circuitry

Hope this help with your problem. Keep on touch in fixya

Hi, Do this beeping code for motherboard troubleshooting. First disconnect all memory, external video card, etc only motherboard and power supply. Then power on if you hear continuous beeping means the motherboard working good. Please do this beeping code troubleshooting.
No beeping means Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals. One beeping means Everything is normal and Computer posted fine. Two beeping means POST/CMOS Error. One Long Beep, One Short Beep means Motherboard Problem.
One Long Beep, Two Short Beeps means Video Problem.

Repeated Long Beeps means memory error.

My PS3 has no menu. No sound or video

try video reset

when ps3 is in standby mode(red light)
press and hold the power button till you hear a second beep.

standby mode press hold power........"beep"......"beep"..release power button

then try rebuilding the database and the file system in recovery consol

to get to the recovery consol press and hold the power button when ps3 is in standby mode(red light) till you hear a double beep. sometimes the ps3 does a beep then another beep and goes back into standby thsi is fine just release the power and quikly press and hold it again till you get double beep.

like on my 80g system it goes like this

ps3 standby...press hold power.......beep .........beep........stanby again....release and hold power again.......beep .........double beep...release power now you should be in recovery menu.

No video from motehr board, no beep on power up?

Hi,
No video and no beep on power up. Your video card is failure and internal speaker is lost, so You can't hear beep sound. or may be motherboard problem. You insert a external Video Card in PCI slot, if video is ok, so your video chip is damaged.

Thanks
