When I try to restart it the computer tries to restart but then shuts down again within a few seconds....!!!!! The computer doesn't even have time turn the screen on again before it shuts down. ang skit s ulo!!!!!
possible parts affected are the motherboard, video card and even the monitor/LCD. try another display/monitor to check if the situation is specific to your monitor/lcd.
The hard disk can be installed in another computer, but it won't boot up and run unless the computer is the same make and model with the same devices as the previous computer.
If it is not then you need to do a fresh Windows install to get a working computer.
What you can do as an alternative is to install the hard drive in an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as an external USB hard drive.
Same problem - unplug both computer and monitor - hold power button for monitor for 15-30 seconds...then power it back on and then power on the computer. Seems from other sites there is a power issue with the monitor - this worked for me.
Some good advice from someone who has been looking for this solution for many months, FORGET jumper solutions because you are just wasting your time with this and forget reheating the board as well. I do not have a diagram to upload but those of you should know where the black bga chip is on the left hand side of the keypad system connector, that is all you have to replace, no jumpers needed. I have just finished my fourth N70 in this way, just change the chip and nothing else. you can also find the chip on 6680 board.
You could try getting a fan for the laptop. I would recommend calling hp and getting an extendedwarranty (you can still do this even if your laptop is out of warrenty). I think this might be a problem with the motherboard. Lots of people have been having problems with there tx1220us over heating and burning parts up. the next step is your computer will quit booting which is where the warranty will kick in. it will save you about 150 to 250 dollars. Good luck.
