I am also having the same problem. Is it just a major defect with yet another whirlpool product. How can it be fixed.I am also having the same problem. Is it just a major defect with yet another whirlpool product. How can it be fixed.

This sounds like a problem with an unbalanced washer or unbalanced load. Your washer has four leveling rubber screws underneath. To keep it from rocking make sure all four points are touching the floor at all times. Washer machine being level is a great plus. Also it could be the amount of clothes put into the washer. The more clothes you put in the less chance of your load being uneven.
UL Stand for unbalanced load
probably the balance rods washer has 4 of them and they work like shocks for the tub and if they go bad than they allow the drum to spin wildly.
Have a Whirlpool Cabrio top loader washing machine, keep getting UL code when spin on high speed and the machine bangs all over the place.. Model num wtw6300sw0 Type 581
The ul error code means unbalanced load.If the load in the drier is much more than it can take, the system will not perform its operation. I can suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good trouble shooting and repair information on washing machines and other appliances. I think you'll find what you need there. Don't worry about the timer, they hardly ever go bad. thanks for ratinggood luck
Hi, UL means Unbalanced load in Whirlpool Cabrio.... UL is displayed when the machine/motor control detects an off-balance load, and is steady on while the washer runs a mini-cycle to rebalance the load. Display clears if mini-cycle successfully rebalanced the load. If the mini-cycle is unsuccessful, uL will flash until the door lid is opened, allowing the customer to view and redistribute the load....
Sorry to hear this. Some washers are notorious for this. I would buy a different brand next time.
Untill something breaks - try loading the machine with a couple of towels when doing sheets - aiming to keep the drum 70% full when loaded.
It's often when there's only 1/2 load that things get unbalanced.
