Can't finish typing street address or city before choices are given I don't need

1. Touch Where To? > Address.
2. Change the state, the country, or the province, if necessary.
3. Touch Search All. If you know the city, touch Spell City, enter the city/postal code, and touch Done. Select the city/postal code in the list. (Not all map data provides postal code searching.)
4. Enter the number of the address, and touch Done.
5. Enter the street name, and touch Done.
6. Select the correct street in the list, if necessary.
7. Touch the address, if necessary.

If you are having problems finding a particular address, try some of following tips. In some cases the address may be listed as being in a different city other than the one that was chosen. When the unit asks for the City Name, try choosing Search All Cities. If the address is listed under a different City Name, doing this will allow the unit to find the address. Also, when entering a street name, it is important that you leave off any direction or label. For example, if the address was 2536 SW Melrose Place, you would enter 2536 for the house number and only Melrose for the street name. Using the house number and city/state, the unit will fill in the direction (SW) and label (Place).

If you are still unable to find the address, the mapping may not have the address available yet. Please report this to our Cartography department using the Error Report Form which can be found at the following link:

You can indeed enter street addresses with this unit, use the "Where to?" function to start pan to the address icon. from here it will ask you city, street, house #. For other applications like finding restaurants use the POI finder.

I would first check what city or town your looking in....

go to Where To..... Address....on the addres screen does it say Select City in ( city the address is in ) ?

If not on bottom of screen it will have change State / Province


If you want you can send me the address or street name and i will check to see if the same happens here....

sometimes if you enter 123 N West St you will need to put 123 North West St or 123 St Anne would be

123 Saint Anne

No it won't unless you have the maps already pre-looaded. Check this by typing in PARIS as the city and Rue de la Paix as a street test If it does not allow that then you need Europe maps installed.

If the unit is suggesting a different street name, try re-entering the address. When you get to the city, hit, "Search All." Then enter the address as normal. It is possible the address is listed as being in a different city, due to the ZIP code. Let me know if this helps.

Have you tried resetting the unit?

Hmmm, do you have all states (full coverage), if not you need an upgrade to unlock full us coverage, if yes, select navigate to / state / city / street / number. Can't be that difficult can it?

Are you sure the unit is looking in the correct City? Sometimes the city will be listed according to the ZIP code. For instance, you may type in one city and it may be listed as a neighboring city due to postal regulations. If you cannot find the correct street in the city you posted, hit the Back key. When you get back to City, hit Search All Cities. Then try the address again. It may pull up the correct address, just with a different city listed.

To find streets that are numerical, not names, enter the address normally to start. Enter the State, City, and House Number. When it asks you to enter the street, look at the bottom of the keyboard. You will see a key marked 123. Press this key, and numbers will show up instead of letters. Type in just the numbers (25 for 25th Avenue, etc.) and hit Done. The street should show as (25th (St., Ave., etc)). Press the correct entry.
