Just a couple of things to try:
You say you tried another cable box and a roku. Are you using the same cables? Are you using hdmi, component or coax cables? Could be a bad wire. True high def tv 1080 requires an hdmi cable for the best picture. The next best choice is the component cable. This is a triple cable with red, green, & blue and provides 720 resolution. The least quality is the coax wire which will only provide low def standard quality picture. Sometimes people hook up 1, 2, or all 3 of these choices not knowing what it all means. If thats the case with your tv it may just be a matter of selecting the correct input on your tv with your remote. On your samsung remote there should be a button for input. Try pushing that button and make sure it's set to hdmi or component, whichever your using. If none of this, is it possible the plasma tv itself is defective?
the 1inch black line is either a buffer board gone bad or the ribbon cable from the plasma screen to the buffer board, the snowy picture could be many things, including y-sus, xsus or tuner boards
Hello - The fact is that your TV, as a HDTV ready device, is really a display monitor that does not contain any TV tuner. There is no place to attach your coax TV connector.
To view TV on the unit you would have to either subscribe to cable or satellite TV service or buy yourself an external TV tuner such as listed HERE (I'm not recommending this tuner just showing the kind of device you would need.)
This TV doesn't have a tuner and thus no RF (coax) input. It should be connected to a set top box by component, composite or S-video cables. Component video (with three RCA video plugs on each end) will provide the best signal (a separate cable with two plugs on each end carries the audio).
Since your TV only has audio and video input jacks, you can connect those to audio and video output jacks on the VCR. Now connect the coax cable to the RF/ant input on the VCR and you'll have to change channels by using the VCR channel selector.
Let me know if you require further assistance.
If you have cable no problem. connect the coax to the in of the VCR and the out to the coax input of the tv. just like you did with a regular tv, they work the same way. if you have a cable box, then connect it between the cable box and the tv. If its a high def box, then you may have to use RCA cables and then read the manual for the VCR to learn how to record off the line input. If you have a Sat box then you should be to do the same thing with that as you did the cable box. The TV does not record anything, get a high def box with a DVR no one uses tapes anymore, wake up and smell the 2000's.
