Question about Computers & Internet
I'm trying to use TomTom Navigator 6 with my new HTC Touch Pro 2 and I keep getting an error message. It appears to hang up at the language selection screen. The program worked great with my HTC TyTN II and Verizon Touch Pro (WM 6.1) but won't work on my Touch Pro 2 with Win Mobile 6.5. Any ideas? Thanks. John
Programs tab - select COM4
Hardware tab - GPS hardware port = (None), Baud rate = 4800
Access tab - Check the box for "Manage GPS Automatically"
Then open TomTom
Touch the signal bar then the signal bar again
Go to Preferences then Show GPS status
Hit - Configure
Select - Other NMEA GPS receiver
Ensure the baud rate is set at 4800

I have tom tom 6 on my touch pro 2. I had the same problem. The reason it starts to act funny is the resolution changes when it gets ointo the language portion of the install. The WVGA screen on the touch pro 2 is not formated for the VGA resolution of the program. Find WVGA fix and load it onto your phone. this gives you a choice of resolution sizes for the screen. Choose the 480x640 or smaller and Tom Tom 6 should work. Just change back to the WVGA resolution when you are done with Tom Tom. I have found the refresh rate isnt as fast as it should be while driving, the lag is pretty bad. Also you will most likely see a system 32 error when flipping the screen from portrait to landscape or when changing cell towers, or recieving notifications out side of Tom Tom. The fix is to soft reset your phone by turning it off. When using the lower resolution screen outside of Tom Tom, you will lose the bottom portion of the screen and consequently the scrolling toolbar at the bottom as well. Kind of a pain, but if you need Tom Tom in a pinch, it works.

Indymobile have an English problem, gave out totally different answer to its question, it's not about the GPS issue, it's about the Windows Mobile 6.5 is not compatible with TomTom 6, TomTom discontinued the Navigator for Windows Mobile until further notice, because the market value is too small for TomTom on Windows Mobile since if you have a Smart Phone and with the default monthly plan, you already have free TeleNav as live GPS built-in with no additional charge.
