I am running windows 7 x64. We have a HP Deskjet 5150 attached to a Windows XP machine which is on our wireless network. When I try and connect to the printer, windows cannot find a driver but if I install the printer locally, Windows already has the driver. How can I get windows to use this driver for the remote printer?

We do not have full feature software for xp 64 bit. However install alternate drivers and then try to print.

Download the instruction Manual for the HP deskjet, model 5150:

When you installed Win7, did you upgrade or did you do a Clean install? If you performed an upgrade, you may have the problem with older conflicting drivers and services. Read this to see what I mean. http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm
