Hey, I'm trying to replace the power source on my emachines t5010 pc, with an Antec TruePower 2.0 550W EPS12V Power Supply, but it doesn't seem to be working. I replaced it plug in by plug in to ensure I got them all, and I've notice there is no switch on the power supply to switch the voltage. It was the recommended piece to replace the old power source with as the origional is no longer in production.
The voltage switch should be a small red switch, right below where the power cord plugs in. you will need a small screwdriver to switch it easily.
if you are getting no power at all, i would also check all the wiring connections on the motherboard from the ATX power switch. these are not that hard to dislodge and could also account for your problem.
hope this helps
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO THE HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs power and data to travel through every working device and continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
make sure your ram modules are securely seated with no dust in the sockets also the Cmos battery has charge with no dust in the socket
if you need more help with this or i have misunderstood the problem post a reply
hope this helps you
