Hi,

ok now carefull tip the scooter onto one side, look at where the steering column attachs to the main frame, it's here you should find a bearing type collar, now you need to losen this and lubricate with a light gears, best to use a waterproof gease then tighting the collar up but
not too much otherwise your steering will again become tight.

GeWiz.

Stiff power steering on a Audi 2.0 Too loose on one side and too stiff on the other side. While driving I have to hold too tight to the steering otherwise I will bump into other cars

That's usually the sign of a worn tie rod or sagging engine cradle. Something is causing it to bind in one direction. You should NOT be driving this

Really stiff turning. I am looking at a 2008 CBR 600 on craigslist and when I took it for a ride, the handlebars were extremely stiff. It's hard to describe, but when doing a tight turn the handlebars...

take a riding course... the instructor will tell you to push the handle bar to the opposite side you are turning when running about 30mph and you really dont turn the handle bar when turning at a high speed. in low speed, handle bars should not be very stiff. maybe check tire pressure.

It seems like the power steering is out on my 94 park ave supercharged, the car is rattling through turns, and the wheel is very stiff. also the batterly light has come on. Any answers as to what to do?

Hi,
Because the battery light came on at the same time the steering started acting up one would look at the belts.
Make sure they are tight and DRY.
Good Luck,

My power steering is stiff on my 1988 ford f150

Does it make a whining sound while trying to steer? Your power steering pump may be going out. Or low on fluid.

Turning is stiff

Head bearings need loosening off or replacing. Could also be bent steerer tube or track rods etc.

Steering does not seem true seems to drift to the left .a little harder to turn right than left. dealer says seems ok to him. i still feel a slight tightness when turning right

This could be a number of things. To check you would have to disconnect the steering from both wheels with the car up on jack stands. then try turning the steering wheel and each wheel to see which if any feel stiff. Then you would know where to start looking. Also make sure the whole front end and steering system is lubed properly.

I HAVE GOT SIDE TO SIDE PLAY ON MY SHOPRIDER SCOOTER WHEN YOU HOLD THE HANDLE BARS ABOUT HALF AN INCH ,IT IS NOT IN THE STEERING ITSELF BUT IN THE SHAFT

ok, under the front steering rod, you will see a screw type ball bearing holder,

First lubricate and then tighten it using your hand , then a plumbers wrench etc, but not too tight otherwise the steering may get stiff.

Stiff power steering

The power steering reservoir is between the engine and air filter intake. It looks as the image below.

In my 2000 chevy tracker 4x4 the steering gets stiff at times

have some one start your car and turn the wheel back and forth and have them tell you when it gets tight. Then look for anything getting hung up on the steering arm, or anything at all
