Yam water pumps are clever the offste centre causes the pump vanes to flex during rotation and at low RPM you have a displacement type pump, at high RPM water pressure forces the vanes to flex inwards and the pump becomes centrifugal, you can fit the impellar either way up so you cant fit it wrongly make sure your gaskets are ok and that the delivery pipe to the power haed is not leaking (try a hose on it) also make sure the little woodruff key or on some models the pin through the drive shaft which turns the pump is fitted ok, not much else that can be wrong!

Yamaha 6hp 4 stroke fuel filter not filling with fuel.

It should be possible to test the pump for proper function - there should be no need to replace it hoping for a cure.

A fuel pump should suck at one end and blow at the other and this can be measured using appropriate gauges and if those measurements are satisfactory the amount of fuel pumped can be measured...

Such tests are fairly routine on wheeled vehicles and not only are they a valuable aid to correct diagnosis they remove all doubt when warranty work is involved.

Yamaha 20 hp model 2010 petrol mixing with sump oil . problem came quite quickly at least a half litre increase after about 8 hours runing

Could be too much idling,4 strokes like a good run to get rid of fuel in oil,too much pitch on prop can also not allow motor to rev enough

1982 55 yamaha outboard ,water not coming out the water pump hole in strenght

First thing to check: Disconnect the tiny hose between the check outlet and the engine. Disconnect it at the engine side.
With an airgun, blow in the check hole from outside to engine side.
With an airgun, blow out the engine connection.
Start the engine, check waterflow out of the engine connector. If water, reconnect the hose and check the water at the checkpoint.
If still no water at the engine connection: replace the impeller!

Water pump not working on Johnson 3.3 outboard 2 stroke.

sounds like you need a new water pump impeller.
to access the impeller the bottom of the motor needs to be unbolted and the impeller is fitted to the shaft, it is keyed so it only goes on one way. ( impeller kits will come with new gaskets,grease.O-rings and a new key ). re-bolt the lower unit and test.

Need oil change in water

If its a 2 stroke, there is no oil to change, if its a 4 stroke, you can pump the oil out with a small diameter tube pump.Depending on the motor, you can get it through the dipstick or the fill opening. If you need to change the gear oil, there is no way to change it while in the water. Stop by a marine supply store and get some oil absorbsion pads (diapers) in case you happen to spill any oil into the water
