"C" in display window and "power failure" keeps getting announced

We had a power failure and now the message window alternates with the number of messages and a "C" along with an annoying voice that says "power failure" after each message. I cannot find the owner's manual so 1) what do I do to get rid of the "C" and that annoying announcement, and 2) is there an owner's manual I can download?

Why my uniden dect 6.0 answering phone has announce only and not record message

Check settings. Go to menu / sel button, press once. Scroll down to answering setup. Select. Scroll to record time. Options are announce only, 1 min. Or 4 min. Make selection. You will know your machine is ready to answer and record messages by the change in the LCD display on phone base from "A" (announce only) to a number, designating the number of messages previously saved.

On Model 1725 get message F1, how do I clear it, etc? John

CLICK HERE for your owners manual in PDF format.

F1 indicates a communication failure with the digital EEPROM (onboard memory).

Essentially you have a paperweight now.

The repair requires a replacement of the memory module, and from all accounts, that proprietary part is not sold.

I would also assert the repair to cost more than another unit (new, or used)

Thanks for using FixYa!!

How to change announcement ?

Before using this answering system, you
should record the announcement (up to
one minute long) that callers will hear
when the system answers a call. If you
choose not to record an announcement,
the system answers with a prerecorded
announcement: “Hello. Please leave a
message after the tone.”
1 Press and hold "ANNC/SKIP" . The system
beeps. Speak toward the microphone
normally, from about nine inches away.
While you are recording, the Message
Window displays —.
2 To stop recording, release "ANNC/SKIP".
The system automatically plays back
your announcement.
To review your announcement, press
and release "ANNC/SKIP".

Here's the link where you can download the manual.

I think it will be easier for you to read their directions than for me to try to explain this.

I hate to beg, but so many people don't rate solutions. We don't get paid for this we just like trying to help. If you found this information helpful I hope you'll take a moment to rate this solution.

Not working

Astonishingly, assignment of announcement to phone line is not documented in the user manual. Tech support was totally worthless concerning this issue. I had to discover it by trial and error. To assign an announcement to a specific phone line do the following:
1) Record your announcement message for a, b, c, ao, etc. as documented
2) Press program
3) Keep pressing the feature button until ANNC appear at the bottom of screen, line 1 appears at the top, and the letter 'a' appears in the middle.
4) Choose the announcement to be assigned to Line 1 by pressing the select button
5) Press the feature button again. Line 2 appears in the display.
6) Repeat step 4 to select the announcement to be assigned to Line 2.
7) Press program button, or take phone off-hook to end the sequence.

Shame on AT&T for such shoddy documentation, and lack of support for their products!
